IPTV: Syd Energi signs agreement with Nordija

Syd Energi has signed an agreement with Nordija on a new version of the fokusOn IPTV platform. Over a 2 year period Syd Energi and Nordija have agreed to deploy a multi service platform particularly qualified for open IPTV-based networks. The solution is a further development of the fokusOn platform, developed by Nordija

From spring 2008 Syd Energi´s customers can choose from a remarkably broader supply of IPTV- based services and TV programs besides electricity, broadband and analogue TV.

”Because we have chosen an open IP-based network, the fokusOn IPTV platform acts as a virtual marketplace, applying the rules of liberal market mechanisms. This gives a variety of  contentproviders the opportunity to brand themselves on our platform with each their individual skin, look and feel. The platform provides our customer with an easy and comfortable access to a wide range of On- Demand content, such as TV channels, movies and information on weather, stocks, the local library or home care-services. For Syd Energi as an operator this is a unique opportunity to meet the demands of our customers in one place and retain our position as our customer´s first choise,” tells Syd Energi CEO, Per Munk Jensen.

Besides self-service, the platform includes features as VOD and PVR (Personal Video Recording) and integration between PC/Mediacenter and TV for the more than 250.000 households in the southern and southwestern parts of Jutland.

The platform will be delivered in stages. The first delivery is in spring 2008.
