        <title>IPTV: Syd Energi signs agreement with Nordija</title>
        <link>http://www.nordija.com/en/News-Articles-and-Press/News/Syd-Energi.html</link>
        <description>IPTV: Syd Energi signs agreement with Nordija Syd Energi has signed an agreement with Nordija on a new version of the fokusOn IPTV platform. Over a 2 year period Syd Energi and Nordija have agreed to deploy a multi service platform particularly qualified for open IPTV-based networks. The solution is a further development of the fokusOn platform, developed by Nordija

  From spring 2008 Syd Energi&amp;acute;s customers can choose from a remarkably broader supply of IPTV- based services and TV programs besides electricity, broadband and analogue TV.

  &amp;rdquo;Because we have chosen an open IP-based network, the fokusOn IPTV platform acts as a virtual marketplace, applying the rules of liberal market mechanisms. This gives a variety of&amp;nbsp; contentproviders the opportunity to brand themselves on our platform with each their individual skin, look and feel. The platform provides our customer with an easy and comfortable access to a wide range of On- Demand content, such as TV channels, movies and information on weather, stocks, the local library or home care-services. For Syd Energi as an operator this is a unique opportunity to meet the demands of our customers in one place and retain our position as our customer&amp;acute;s first choise,&amp;rdquo; tells Syd Energi CEO, Per Munk Jensen.

  Besides self-service, the platform includes features as VOD and PVR (Personal Video Recording) and integration between PC/Mediacenter and TV for the more than 250.000 households in the southern and southwestern parts of Jutland.
  &amp;nbsp;
  Commercial Manager, Nordija ITV, Bille Madsen is very pleased to provide customers as well as serviceproviders with a variety of services in one portal: &amp;rdquo;Our solution is targeted to meet the particular demands of open IPTV-networks. This means that our the platform meets the&amp;nbsp; technical and commercial challenges that serviceproviders and IPTV operators are facing today and will face for the years to come&amp;rdquo;

  The platform will be delivered in stages. The first delivery is in spring 2008.

        <title>Nordija ready with DR open standard-solution </title>
        <link>http://www.nordija.com/en/News-Articles-and-Press/News/DR-delivery.html</link>
        <description>Nordija has developed the DR open standard-solution  With the expiration of August, Nordija has delivered an MPEG4 H.264-based streaming-solution to DR, the National Danish Broadcast Company. MPEG4 H.264 is the term for the open standard format that DR is now testing to enable the users of Mac and Linux to watch live TV channels on the DR website. The new format offers an opportunity to livestream WebTV in an even better quality than today.&amp;nbsp;

  Nordija has several years of experience in developing IPTV-solutions and got the job to develop the H.264-solution in the aftermath of the latest media settlement, in which the Danish Parliament recommended DR to develop the open standard.

  The H.264-project is based on open-source-technologies and consists of an end-user-client, establishing and configurating software, encoders and hardware besides tehcnical advice on the formats and standards chosen for the project. The project has been carried out as an agile project based on the methods of Scrum.

  &amp;rdquo;Our main objective has been to develop a solution that makes DR face future possibilities with less effort. This is why we recommended a solution independent of platforms. In example this means that DR will be able transmit to TV, mobil devices and PC from within the same free format and at the same time be open to use new future formats&amp;rdquo;, informs Commercial ITV Manager Bille Madsen from Nordija.

  The H.264- project is not the first job Nordija carries out for National Danish Broadcasting Company. Nordija has earlier delivered two MHP-solutions with interactive services to DIGI-TV, the digital broadcasting company mutually owned by DR and TV2.
